Killer queen that's me...
We are going to get the first frost tonight and I'm not at all happy about it. The frost really ruins everything, I have so many more things to harvest and no time....
Today I had to kill all the lovely dahlias in my potager, chop and slash. I felt very brutal when I armed with garden fork, scissors and secateurs massacred all my poor poor Dalhias. Now they are laying in black plastic boxes just like in a morgue with a name-tag tied around them. I was able though...(sigh) to save some blooms that I put indoors in vases to get a lovely blooming Friday...

If you are wondering what is earth I have on my kitchen table it is Cantharellus tubaeformis that I'm drying for later use. Below you find a picture from the woods of the little delicatessen.

I should like to learn more about mushrooms... Your home is so warm and vibrant Tyra! Sorry about your getting the killer frost. Hope you can enjoy the weekend! Maybe there will be just a light frost. Carol
Aren't those orchids growing near the window?
hi, just drop by from Blotanical. Congrats on the best blog award.
Sad to note that dahlias having hardtime during the frost. I had hard time planting them in my place - too many unsucessful trials as they shrivel & die.
Would love to hear from you about my garden blog.
Happy Blogging.
Good Morning Carol and thank you, it is not hard at all to learn about the funghis, I just learned a handful since my childhood, but they are the best in my mind and they are enough for my household.
Have a great weekend/ Tyra
Urban green, yes they are orchids and they seem to thrive on the windowsill.
Welcome James and thank you, how very nice that you congratulated me for the great 'silver' award!
:-) I'm so delighted and amazed to the nominations of both my bilingual garden blogs. Have a great weekend in Batu Caves!

At least the first frost forces us to take action :-)
I'm always putting things off then have to rush tender plants under cover at the last minute. I will try to be more organised this year.
Tyra, du måste ha lite mera IS I MAGEN. Än är det långt till någon frost!! (Tro det den som vill). /Ruben
Oh what a shame that frost is forecast for you Tyra when there is still colour in the garden. I hope that it's not heading this way just yet !
Så smaskigt med trattkantareller i mängder! Undrar varför jag aldrig hittar några... -GRATTIS Tyra! Ha en härlig helg!
I'm glad you saved some for inside. That will prolong the fall.
It is hard to put the garden to bed for the winter, isn't it, Tyra. It will be several more months before I will probably have to start protecting plants. There is not too many things I will have to dig up though, unlike you. Our coldest weather doesn't happen until mid-January. Have a good weekend.

Always Growing
Oh Tyra. I feel for you and I'm right there with you. We had our first frost last night too. It's always so hard for me. After everything is gone, I can move on but letting go of the blooms is so difficult!
Love your dining room colors ~ they make me happy. have a good weekend.
Ja, det är lite sorgligt att frosten kom så snabbt, jag har inte hunnit plocka mina tagetes frö och det har jag alltid annars gjort så länge jag haft trädgård så det känns konstigt.
Kan man äta svamparan du visar?

It's hard to cut down something in bloom, but it has to be done. Beautiful dahlia bouquet and beautiful orchids too!
Visst Maria den är dessutom delikat!
It seems so early, but then you are in Sweden! Yellow leg is a lovely bud~~gail
