Tyra's Garden is a small garden on the island of Resarö situated in the inner part of the archipelago near the small town Vaxholm, outside Stockholm. Tyra's Garden is mostly an ornamental vegetable garden, my potager. But flowers are of course an important ingredience, for beauty and pollination. The climate in these parts is quite demanding as the northerly winds can be strong and cold. THIS BLOG 'Tyra's Garden' is not entirely a gardenblog it contains much more. When I was cutting up onions and garlic the other day I remembered hearing that rubbing your hands on stainless steel, like the pot on my stove, will take away the smell. I rubbed, and indeed, the smell was gone. Seems like magic.

That's a really neat little tool Tyra!

I can confirm Commonweeder's trick - stainless steel does indeed neutralize garlic and onions. It's quite amazing. My sister bought me a little stainless steel gadget that looks just like a bar of soap. I keep it at the kitchen sink and use it to get rid of garlic and onion smells from my hands. It's hard to believe how well it works. It DOES seem like magic.

Great looking gadget. I watched the video. Great idea.

Verkligen en bra liten pryl - för vitlök är gott men inte alltid så kul att lukta så mycket om fingrarna.
Tack för att du vill vara med i mitt lilla Tema,

Tyra I really want Bilbo to come visit you! I want him to see your greenhouse so when he comes back home to me he can tell me all about it! He is on his 12th stop right now in New Mexico, USA. You can go to my blog and click on the photo to link to Briana's post on Bilbo (she is his current host). I would love for him to come visit you!
