The Stockholm Archipelago is great for sailing!

The archipelago comprises 24 000 islands, islets and rocks.

At this time of year I have to leave my garden on the island Resarö, because this is the perfect time for sailing (and fishing).
The Stockholm archipelago is one of the world’s most spectacular. Stretching 80 kilometres east of the city.
With its 24,000 islands, the Stockholm archipelago is a unique place to spend time all year around but I prefer it during the summertime.
On some islands, you´ll find picturesque restaurants, hotels, youth hostels and country stores, while other islands have only natural harbors or are entirely deserted. There´s plenty of variation, and the wildlife is amazing. I leave Vaxholm, the charming archipelago town where I live for the outer archipelago and the more"deserted " islands. If you come and visit Stockholm during the summer I highly recommend to take a boat out in the archipelago, if you like walking, fishing or taking a swim in the sea followed by a sauna, you may be tempted by Finnhamn and Möja. The island Sandhamn, is known for its cultural heritage, restaurants and Regattas. Many of the islands in the archipelago can be reached by boat from central Stockholm, just opposite the Royal Castle.
