Tyra's Garden is a small garden on the island of Resarö situated in the inner part of the archipelago near the small town Vaxholm, outside Stockholm. Tyra's Garden is mostly an ornamental vegetable garden, my potager. But flowers are of course an important ingredience, for beauty and pollination. The climate in these parts is quite demanding as the northerly winds can be strong and cold. THIS BLOG 'Tyra's Garden' is not entirely a gardenblog it contains much more. Morning has broken

Good Morning!

It´s so peaceful, the air is clear and the birds are singing. What could be a better start of the day then to take a stroll in the garden, to inhale the fresh morning air and to watch the sun go up. Do some Tai Chi up on the flat rock........

Morning has broken, like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird
Praise for the singing, praise for the morning
Praise for the springing fresh from the word

Sweet the rain's new fall, sunlit from heaven
Like the first dewfall, on the first grass
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden
Sprung in completeness where his feet pass

Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning
Born of the one light, Eden saw play
Praise with elation, praise every morning
God's recreation of the new day
As sung by Cat Stevens lyrics by Eleanor Farjeon

Nu börjar dagen heter den på svenska, en morgonpsalm. Mest känd då Cat Stevens sjunger den, från albumet Teaser and the firecat (1971)

Tiden räcker dåligt till så här års. Det är så otroligt mycket som skall fixas med, speciellt med trädgården. Det blir inte så mycket tid över till att sitta vid datorn....men det kommer regniga dagar.

Oh, one more picture. An extremely Swedish one.

Forsythia and a very blue sky

Glad Valborg! Kram / Emselisa

Good Morning Tyra....
What a very fitting song to welcome a beautiful morning I feel the same sentiment about the morning we are blessed with here today. I took a stroll around my garden first thing, enjoyed the perfumes, the birdsong and the sound of the little river running below, as I have said before, it is ‘Nature’s Music’.
I hope the sun shines on your face today. Marion

Hi Tyra,

What a wonderful song to start the day with. I was thought this song a long time ago at school.

Is that a lake I see near your greenhouse? Very pretty.

Yellow and blue, that's very Swedish!!! :-D

Hannela, Emilie, Marion and Yolanda, thank you all for stoping by.
And Yolanda you ask if it´s a lake? no it´s actually the sea, we call it Östersjön and I think that is the same as The Baltic Sea. It´s the big water between Sweden and Finland. The archipelago of Stockholm has over 24 000 island!
Resarö "my island" is one of them.
More of this wonderful place in my blog, Navigare necesse est.
