Tyra's Garden is a small garden on the island of Resarö situated in the inner part of the archipelago near the small town Vaxholm, outside Stockholm. Tyra's Garden is mostly an ornamental vegetable garden, my potager. But flowers are of course an important ingredience, for beauty and pollination. The climate in these parts is quite demanding as the northerly winds can be strong and cold. THIS BLOG 'Tyra's Garden' is not entirely a gardenblog it contains much more. About me: Enthusiastic amateur gardener and photographer from Vaxholm, Sweden. Designed and built my Greenhouse and Potager in Tyra's Garden 2003. In -Law Weekend in Umeå.
A lot of fun, food & drink, 'relax' and walks. A visit to Gammlia and the "Egil the tug" museum. The city offers world-class art, drama, films, industries, music and research. It aims to attract more companies, break new construction records and, not least become the European Capital of Culture 2014. Umeå is one of Sweden's fastest growing cities. The average age of the 111 000 people who live in Umeå is 37. They intend to increase their numbers — the goal is to pass the 150 000 figure before 2050.

From the picture above.
A visit to Market Place with all the fruit, veggies and flowers.
Time for some shopping, "Gamla Bettan" got a smart looking coat.
Mr Mechanic, the man with the 'do not touch-sign' doing one of his funny faces. He's a great man with a wonderful sense of humor.
The brothers and sister by the family grave, we lit a candle for grandma and grandpa, Ester and Johannes Nordin and put down some flowers on the grave. After that a jump of joy from Hubbe and Eva - did we say lunchtime?
Down by the river on the boat 'Sjöbris' we enjoyed a coffee in the beautiful September sunshine. The autumn air was clear and fresh, still quite warm, guess it was about 15 degrees and no wind. Perfect day for a walk, so off we went to Gammlia.
A few kilometres from the city centre you find Gammlia, an Outdoor Museum where you can look at all the lovely old buildings and at the same time enjoy the great landscape, there are some stunning views from up there.

At Västerbottens museum we visited 'The family tug'.S/S Egil. a steam tug built in Germany 1914. In may 1924 Grandpa Johannes Nordin became captain on this fine boat.

. Kolla in den här artikeln om Egil
Thank you for a great weekend!

Fast kanske han var i huvudstaden då och sprang Lidingöloppet.
