Tyra's Garden is a small garden on the island of Resarö situated in the inner part of the archipelago near the small town Vaxholm, outside Stockholm. Tyra's Garden is mostly an ornamental vegetable garden, my potager. But flowers are of course an important ingredience, for beauty and pollination. The climate in these parts is quite demanding as the northerly winds can be strong and cold. THIS BLOG 'Tyra's Garden' is not entirely a gardenblog it contains much more. Mother Earth's Wild Flowers Garden - Uppland

Mother Earth's Garden - Uppland

I'm up at my 'summerhouse' again to make the house ready for the winter. There are a lot of things that need to be attended to, empty the water butts (?) storing all the garden furniture etc. As I was looking at some pictures last night I found these wild flower pictures taken on a walk in May this year at the Bondskärets Naturresevat. This protected area has a great flora and fauna as well as very interesting geological features. This nature reserve Bondskäret is just a few K from here and just by the sea. Meadow flowers at Bondskär Dactylorhiza sambucina. not latifolia as it says on the photo (an old name) , I don't know the english name for it, we call it Adam & Eva. Its an orchid and all the orchids in Sweden are protected species accordingly it is prohibited to pick, dig up or in other ways harm the orchids.

This is the pretty Spring Pea Lathyrus vernus - Vårärt

Meadows and Woodland at the Nature Reserve - Ängskär - Bondskär

Cowslip - Primula veris L. - Gullviva

And at last but not least a favorite the wonderful fragrant Lily-of-the-valley Convallaria majalis L. -Liljekonvalj

Have a great day - Ha en bra dag / TYRA

I enjoyed the tour of your flowers. I am so sorry for the recent episode of stealing. I had commented on that post but did not see my comment later.

Våra vilda växter är verkligen en skatt att vårda. Hoppas de utrotningshotade får leva kvar på sina växtplatser! Tack för titten - härliga foton!

Racquel thank you for the comment I'm glad you liked it.

Anna, thank you. Yes it is really sad that people are that bad. It still goes on unfortunatly.

Katarina, visst har vi en fantastisk natur och jag älskar att botanisera i den.

Tyra ~ It's so nice to remember Spring's flowers as we head into fall and winter. I especially like your Lily of the Valley. That is such a sweet flower.

Hi Tyra, first off, congrats on the nice article in your newspaper. That must have cheered you greatly. I see you added that sentence at the top, smart move! It is ever so delightful to see those wildflowers now when the gardens are going to sleep. Those primroses are the most favorite of mine. I have saved seed and am trying to get them started in the greenhouse. Do you start seeds in your greenhouse?

Frances

ps, congrats on having your stealing post number one on Blotanical! Well deserved.

Hello Cindy yes those wild flowers are special, you never get tired of them.

Dear Frances thank you for that nice and warming comment. I'm delighted that the stealing post is on the top so that every one will read it. This issue is a problem.

Love the spring flowers Tyra. The orchid is beautiful, I'm glad it's protected. My favorite of all is the primula veris (cowslip). I've tried and tried to start it from seed in recent years with no luck. It's the primrose I love the most. Thanks for taking us along ~ it won't be long before we'll be able to see these spring flowers again soon (notice how I'm ignoring winter)!!!
