Tyra's Garden is a small garden on the island of Resarö situated in the inner part of the archipelago near the small town Vaxholm, outside Stockholm. Tyra's Garden is mostly an ornamental vegetable garden, my potager. But flowers are of course an important ingredience, for beauty and pollination. The climate in these parts is quite demanding as the northerly winds can be strong and cold. THIS BLOG 'Tyra's Garden' is not entirely a gardenblog it contains much more. CHOCOLATE - for taste, lust and joy!

Chocolat un moment de vèritable plaisir...did you know that chocolate stimulates the same lust center in the brain as sexual activity?
...
'Mozartkugel', truffles and home made chocolate for christmas. We made almond paste and marzipan this year out of which we then formed round balls of Walnut paste with Cognac dipped in dark chocolate. Also, we made a version of Mozartkugel, or ‘Mozart bonbons’, in the shape of a loaf consisting of nougat, marzipan, almond paste and dark chocolate - and yes some Congnac as well, it was heavenly…

The beautiful fruit pods on the cacao tree, here in various stages of ripening.

While chocolate is regularly eaten for pleasure, there are potential beneficial health effects of eating chocolate. Cocoa or dark chocolate benefits the circulatory system. Other beneficial effects suggested include anticancer, brain stimulator, cough preventor and antidiarrhoeal effects.wikipedia

Just a few days left on 2008...

oh yes ...soon I can start with the seeds!

Lots Of Love/ Tyra

Mmmmm!....och förutom det du berättar så innehåller den mörka chokladen även antioxidanter (låter inte så sensuellt precis, men....).
Verkligen lustfyllda bilder!

Your chocolates sound so delicious! I love marzipan and have a weakness for swiss chocolate. Yes, seed ordering and planning time is coming. I can start planting seeds indoors under my grow lights in February.

Oh, how ambitious and creative of you to have made your own special chocolate treats this Christmas, Tyra! I was inclined but never made it past the pumpkin bread and cookies I baked. (Maybe next year??)

Thank you for your kind visit! It is good to know your huby is from Poland. So I can write in my native language here?
English is very dificult for me.

You have a very wonderful blogsite.

In my age I must be careful with chocolate. Little bit be ok.

God bless you and your family!

Oh my goodness Tyra, you know how to live well! Chocolate and cognac, what a fabulous combination. Your creations are exquisite and I bet they taste heavenly too. We used to make a similar candy with bourbon soaked walnuts in a fondant then dipped in chocolate. Time consuming but wonderful as well. I may have to study your picture of the candy for a long time and imagine the taste in my mouth! :-)

Kram Karin

Those fruit pods are beautiful Tyra and my mouth is watering reading about your exquisite handmade chocolates. I did not eat as much chocolate as usual this Christmas and I think I need to make up for that! Happy New Year to you.
