VINTAGE Ornaments and Greetings.

Well, soon the Christmas is over and we have to tidy away all the lovely Christmas ornaments and décor. But first I would like to show you some of my favourite Christmas ornaments.

Here I made a parade of my favourite Christmas ornaments.

First out is an eggshaped Fabergé Christmas ornament. It is not a 19th century Carl Fabergé egg from S:t Petersburg but Florideco has recreated these Fabergé eggs, mouthblown and handpainted glass Christmas ornaments.
...
This is a golden angel that 'flies' around on my veranda. Lyrics: Jimmy Hendrixs
...
Another Fabergé egg and in front of an old terracotta pot

Small glass ornaments that I bought very cheaply in a 'Tobacco store' in Stockholm ages ago when I still was a student, they were so very cheap that I bought 3 dozen of them.

This is the oldest one - Old Vintage Santa

Cobolt blue glass fir cone.

I wish you all a lovely New Years Eve -

and a Happy New Year 2009!

These are lovely. I especially like your Santa - those are hard to find now and many people here try to collect them.

Thanks for posting some of your lovely ornaments, Tyra! I especially love cobalt blue:) I have some very special ornaments that I usually put up on a second tree we put in the living room, but we didn't put that out this year, so, those ornaments are still wrapped up for next year. I have a lot of interesting ones on the current tree in the family room--and probably of those, the ones we got in Germany are my favorite:) We lived there back in the '80's when my husband was still in the Army. I never did get up to Sweden:( the furthest up we got was Holland. Happy New Year! Jan

I miss these lovely little vintage ornaments. You just don't find them much anymore.

Lovely ornaments! I have collected vintage ornaments for many years in the colors of aqua and pink. This year my tree fell and I lost 19 of them...ouch! So back to the fun of collecting. :-)

Nydelige ornamenter, nissen og konglen (kotten?) har jeg maken til, min kongle er rød, disse og noen fler er fra mitt barndomshjem.

It was very nice seeing some of your favorite ornaments. A few are very similar to ones I have had since we were first married. Have a Happy New Year.

Hi Tyra
The ornaments in the 4th picture (I think) the ones you bought when you were a student remind me of some my mother had when I was a child. I dont think she has them any more. I love the Faberge ones - very opulent looking.

Happy New Gardening Year, Tyra! I vår julgran hänger det olika prydnader inköpta under våra semestrar utomlands. Bra samtalsämne när man samlas runt granen och roliga minnen! /Ruben

Hi Tyra, I never tire of seeing the favorite ornaments of others. Yours are especially wonderful. I love the eggs and the traditional ones you bought long ago. I have the same type, they were so cheap, good thing for I had little money then too. The blue fir cone is a wintry beauty! May 2009 be the best year ever for you and yours!

Thanks for sharing your favorite ornaments with us Tyra. I love the vintage Santa & the blue glass fir cone. I have some that we bought early on that were inexpensive too, but they still hang on my tree to this day. :)

It always makes me sad every year to pack them away but happy when I unpack them!! Happy, Happy New Year to you and your family Tyra. I'm so glad I found your blog this year, it's such a treasure.

Beautiful, Tyra. I love the Faberge eggs.

90% of my ornaments are the old-fashioned blown glass ones. I try to find a new one every year. This year, I found a beautiful Poinsettia one for $3 at Walmart! It looked like a much more expensive ornament. Last year's were a white owl and an ice skate.
