The last lily of the season

This post 'The last lily of the season' was originally uploaded by Tyra in the blog Tyra's Garden

It was raining this morning when I went for my morning round in the garden. There are still some lovely blooms to enjoy, roses, dahlias and this the last lily of the season. The lilies has been incredible this year and this is the last one out...a bit sad, it has a different but lovely colouring this lily hasn't it.

Harvest in pink and green.

Fina liljor..!

It is amazing how some flowers keep on blooming - even if it is only one flower at a time by the end of the season. Beautiful but rather sad.

Ljuvliga liljor Tyra. Tack för besöket :-).

Your last lily is still quite beautiful. I love your composition on the white chair. You have a wonderful weekend too!

Harvest in pink and green, vilket flott foto!!!

Lite sorgligt, men sant!

Pretty lilies. I have been noticing a lot of "lasts" too. My last daylily flower just bloomed. While it is sad to say goodbye to summer flowers, it is encouraging to remember the fall ones will be showing up soon.

Lovely lily and yes always a bit sad, when the last of the season... love your basket containers next to your clay pots and stone floor. Great shot of your harvest before the muted background on your rustic chair. Happy Weekend in your garden too!

There's always something quite melancholy about the last of any flowers but your lily is a beauty Tyra. I like your harvest photo too. Hope that you are having a good weekend :)

Hello Tyra, you have a very beautiful garden. I am amazed by it.

You asked about my photo at Newtown Area photo.
The photo was taken at the old Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia.
It is now open for tours no prisoners of course. :-)

Hi Tyra. I've been away from your blog for quite a while now so it was fun tonight catching up on your back posts. The wedding looked lovely as did that tomato pie. yum. I have not had very good luck with my first try at growing veggies but maybe next year??? Lucky you out sailing ~ sounds like the perfect way to spend some summer days. The last lily of the season is making me sad even tho it's so beautiful. How does this season come and go so quickly? Pretty soon we'll all be writing about snow. Enjoy your garden for however much longer it remains and I promise not to stay away as long next time!

Beautiful lily. The last one? I hope they'll come again next year, though!
Happy gardening to you, too!

Hi Tyra, i can understand the little sad feeling one gets watching the last Lily bloom of the season.
The harvest in pink and green, a mix of beautiful and healthy, looks so fresh.
