Tyra's Garden is a small garden on the island of Resarö situated in the inner part of the archipelago near the small town Vaxholm, outside Stockholm. Tyra's Garden is mostly an ornamental vegetable garden, my potager. But flowers are of course an important ingredience, for beauty and pollination. The climate in these parts is quite demanding as the northerly winds can be strong and cold. THIS BLOG 'Tyra's Garden' is not entirely a gardenblog it contains much more. Blooming Friday - White Dahlia in my Potager

White Dahlia in my Potager

It is now the last of 'Blooming Friday' of the month of November, ah...I'm so glad this month is finally over I'm not a huge fan of November it is sooo dark. Soon we enter Advent and that is wonderful period these four week before Christmas, so much happens. We can all light our Advent candels and feast on our Advent treats.

This is the blooming potager in July almost more flowers then vegetables, no just joking it is just that the flowers are taller. Find more interesting participants at our host Katarina

Now to something completely different it is about a new group on Facebook, it is called 'KÖKSTRÄDGÅRDEN' The Vegetable Garden and you are all very welcome but it is in Swedish so I guess it narrows down the members to us Scandinavians. Now I'll change to Swedish for those who prefere that.

I wish you all a wonderful first Sunday of Advent!

Happy Thanksgiving

I believe we are 'soul sisters' on how we rejoice in the seasons, dear Tyra, Advent a high note for our family also. However, I hate to say goodbye to November since I love not only its early golden glow, bountiful harvest, and rich foods that grace our tables but mostly because its the month in which both my youngest son and I were born. But like you hate the short days when I feel like jumping into jammies instead of dining 'al fresco':)

Tyra, I love November, but being at a much lower latitude than you, we have sun and milder temps. However, I agree with you about the next four weeks - wonderful times ahead. Have a great weekend.

Hope you had a great time during thanksgiving. Just wondering if you celebrate it in Europe too? Coz my sister who's in Germany said Thanksgiving is not so special there. I'm sure you're busy planning for Christmas, aren't you?

Just a few more hours before I'm out of NOvember (and by my International time clock you're just into December). Less than a month until the days start getting (slightly) longer. We'll make it. Meanwhile, we have Advent to enjoy, as you say.

Glad you have much to look forward to in December, I always think the colder climes figure out how to celebrate winter holidays better because we just need that light so much in the dark months! :) Nice to look back at summer when everything was blooming so wildly. Happy Advent!
