My all time favourite flower is the Hibiscus Rosa-sinensis. I got my first hibiscus plant on my 10th birthday, that is probably one of the reasons why I like it so very much. I still do remember that day very clearly as if it was just the other day. I remember how my mother had arranged a birthday-table for me with all my gifts upon it and the pot with the hibiscus in the middle as a centerpiece.
Today's Flowers is my Hibiscus Rosa-sinensis - 'The Rose from China'

After all of the cold months, most garden lovers are probably ready to start thinking about the coming planting season. The good news is that there are projects that can be done during the winter in preparation for the coming spring.

I have not seen photos of a hibiscus in such close up detail before Tyra - they are quite intriguing. What a beautiful birthday flower. I am not surprised that you are able to remember your gift so clearly :)

What a great 10th birthday present Tyra! And equally wonderful you remember it ~ I don't have any recollection of what I received at that age.
Your photos are amazing. That top left photo in your collage is stunning. I've never thought to photograph that part of the flower. Fabulous job!
