Topiary is the art of creating sculptures using clipped trees or shrubs.
I love Topiary, so much that one day I decided to paint it one the wall.
This is one of the bedrooms in my house. During the winter I always do something fun indoors, this is one of the results.
Romantic but in the same time Scandinavian , strict and cool.

The ancient Romans were known for their formal gardens and had a special slave,
the Topiarius who maintained the ornamental topia.
The plants that are generally used are evergreen but I´ve used a Blackthornebush that now is a topiary Blackthornetree in Tyras Garden! Common plants used in topiary are Buxus sempervirens, Thuja, Laurus nobilis, Taxus and Ligustrum.Advice for plant care from Crown Topiary.
Caring for topiary plants (species):
Box (Buxus sempervirens) and varieties
English Yew (Taxus baccata)
Holly (Ilex)
Privet (Ligustrum jonandrum)
....
Cones, pyramids, balls or spirals, classic shapes of topiary but you can also do fun shapes like a hen, elephant or a croc.
Topiarius in action in Tyras Garden, I often used both hands when I trim the plants. It makes me feel like Johnny Depp in Edward Scissorhands, love that movie. I think Tim Burton is a genius.

Tänk va kul man kan ha med en sax! Jag är ju vänsterhänt och har lätt att använda båda händerna så jag brukar faktiskt klippa med båda händerna. Det känns jätte kul. Jag känner mej som Johnny Depp i Edward Scissorhand!

Bonjour mama!! Igår när jag gick o la mig hade lilla hibbe en stor vacker blomma. I morse när ag kom ut i köket tittade TRE blommor upp på mig. Jättefin är den!

Good morning! Den dar sangen ser sa rackarns skon ut! (om man ar kortare an 160 cm dvs...) I eftermiddag ska jag ga och handla blommor till min balkong.. vi far se vad det blir i ar! Har ni Edward Scissorhand pa dvd? Om inte sa har jag den och kan ta hem den nasta gang :) En is-skulptur i Tyras tradgard harnast kanske? I love the concept of Topiary, will try to decorate the interiors of my house similarly.
Topiary är det roligaste jag vet, det går lite långsamt på vårt berg, men en trädgårdsmästare har ju tålamod ;)

Väggmålning är avancerat, men lite kuddar och dörrmattor..
