Tyra's Garden is a small garden on the island of Resarö situated in the inner part of the archipelago near the small town Vaxholm, outside Stockholm. Tyra's Garden is mostly an ornamental vegetable garden, my potager. But flowers are of course an important ingredience, for beauty and pollination. The climate in these parts is quite demanding as the northerly winds can be strong and cold. THIS BLOG 'Tyra's Garden' is not entirely a gardenblog it contains much more. ABC Wednesday B is for...

ABC Wednesday ‘B’. This week I'll post an ABC in both The Greenhouse and Tyra's Garden.

B is for Blotanical, yes that is correct not Botanical.

Blotanical where garden Blogs Bloom…

Blotanical is the place where garden friends from all over the world get together. Out of all the information out there in the cyberspace blogosphere, Blotanical is an incredible resource, a goldmine full of information and an extremely wide-ranging directory of over a thousand garden influenced blogs. That is pretty amazing!

Blotanical was created by an Australian guy called Stuart Robinsson in 2007. Stuart is 'thirty-something' married and has four kids, and, as if that wasn't enough, he also has a Bachelor degree in Business (Double Major in Accounting & Marketing) from Edith Cowan University. He has done a most impressive job with this Garden bloggers paradise and still does. Blotanical is very much ‘alive’ and is constantly evolving. This is what Stuart says about… Stuart.

‘I’m a gardener from Busselton, (can you hear the wonderful accent?) Western Australia who loves digging in the dirt and smelling the aroma of everything natural. Plants are my favourite thing in the world apart from spending time with my wife and family.
When I'm not gardening, I'm either on my computer, playing basketball, or taking photos.’

I Tyra, want to thank you all my Blotanical friends around the world, for giving me so much knowledge, love, awareness, happiness and joy - the list could in fact go on and on. I’m so deeply impressed of all the wonderful blogs and people out there in the blogosphere. Thank you for letting me be a part of the ‘Blotanical community ’.

Are you interested to join the Blotanical adventure? Look further here. You don’t need to have a blog to join, nor a garden, just be interested to be a part of the Blotanical friendship.

Oh... I just have to present a plant on B as well.

I have only recently joined Blotanical Tyra, but it seems a most friendly and welcoming community. I did not know that there were that number of blogs there to explore. It's going to keep me busy on these long winter evenings.

What a great pick for the letter "B"! Isn't it a wonderful place!? :)

I love Blotanical, although I wish more bloggers would spend more time reading and faving some of the blogs that aren't as visited as the top ones. I try to read a few new ones each time I visit and track some of them, and fave as many as I can, but it makes me sad to see some really good ones with only one or two picks, while the same ones get picked again and again. (Including mine. ) I've been thinking about how to bring this up in a post, as a way to encourage newer bloggers. Any ideas?

Great post! I'd never heard of blotanical but I'm on my way to visit! Thanks!

You have taught me something new, and so the day is saved. Also gardens must be a heaven for photographers - I'll bring my macro-lens.

Hi Anna and welcome into my garden, I love your blog. Green Tapestry! Thank you for your kind comment.

Hi Jodi and yes do have some ideas, I always start by reading the new bloggers post. I think it is good that Stuart is going to change the 'most picked/popular'.

Hi Tumblewords and welcome, it is so very nice to meet new faces. I certainly like your blog and wonderful words.

Rune E please do come and visit.

Hi Tyra, This is a wonderful post about Blotanical. I've met so many interesting and really friendly bloggers through Blotanical. It's also been a real inspiration to keep current with my own blog. Let's hope that a lot more gardeners join the fun!

And thank you for being a "regular" at my blog. You leave such nice comments. :)

You chose a good subject. I never seem to have the time to visit the Blotanical site and get familiar with it. Thanks for reminding me I need to try again to learn to navigate thru the site.

I'm afraid I'm a lot like Marnie, I haven't ever taken the time to really know the "ins" and "outs" of Blotanical but I'm still glad I joined. It's connected me with a lot of very talented gardeners & people. I'm happy to have found you and your blog too Tyra. It's a lovely place.
