Tyra's Garden is a small garden on the island of Resarö situated in the inner part of the archipelago near the small town Vaxholm, outside Stockholm. Tyra's Garden is mostly an ornamental vegetable garden, my potager. But flowers are of course an important ingredience, for beauty and pollination. The climate in these parts is quite demanding as the northerly winds can be strong and cold. THIS BLOG 'Tyra's Garden' is not entirely a gardenblog it contains much more. Meet Dear John.

Quifen

We are now on the 23th of September entering the Quifen, the autumnal equinox is here and the summer of 2010 is gone, the days are getting shorter and shorter by the day. The leaves colors are starting to fade and soon they will fall. In the garden this morning I met my friend John, he is a Canadian, I took some picture for you so you can meet my darling John Davis the Explorer Rose from Canada. A little bit wet and cold but he looks like he is enjoying the September days, the last days of summer.

Thank you Canada for giving us these hardy Explorer Roses!

John is handsome Tyra!! Very beautiful shots you took of him too.
It makes me sad to read that the summer of 2010 is over. I know it is but to see it in print is hard to swallow. I want a "do-over!!"
Hope you had a good one. You sure had some nice sailing pictures.
Happy Fall!

Hi Tyra
What a nice guy. I didn't know this kind of roses and well, it could be something for my garden too, because winters get quite cold here.
The rain drops on Johnnys petals look very nice! Nice picture and a wonderful collage.
Kind regards from a rainy day in Switzerland
Alex
